Domain investors have noticed a surge in new domain registrations, largely fueled by cryptocurrency, that harkens back to the days of the early 2000s Dot-Com boom, according to Bloomberg Quint. The surge has given rise to a notion that we have entered what is called “Web3”, representing a paradigm shift in the way that we use the internet, in this case centered around blockchains. Web3 proponents see these domains as helping bridge the gulf between Web2 and Web3.
