As part of the Canadian Internet Registration Authority’s (CIRA’s) Community Investment Program, the organization Facing History and Ourselves is introducing an educational resource for middle and high school teachers titled Stolen Lives: The Indigenous Peoples of Canada and the Indian Residential Schools. Inspired by the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC’s) urging of improved education regarding the history of Canada’s indigenous peoples, Facing History has released a digital version of this module that gathers primary source material and first-hand accounts meant to stimulate classroom discussion.
The digital version is available at the Facing History website.
